You don't really need a quantizer - just tune the pots carefully, and if you get the base intervals absolutely perfect in tune (using a tuner), they'll add up into in tune chromatic pitches.
Right on, yes. This is the reason I use this in my rack when tuning my analog stuff because my ears sometimes suck ............. see Photo ..........
Also, the MAX voltages are set on chromatic intervals so all you need to do is turn all the pots full CW, program in some notes and let the summing do the rest.

Very nice! And great to see some dr-110 usage - I used to use one of those a LOT. I have a cd on cd-baby that has some on just about every track - and it was released back in 1986! And I don't think you need a midi>cv with it - I think there's a clock out that'll work with just about anything - I used to clock various samplers and stuff with it. (edit - never mind - I see the midi>cv question was about different gear) I'm going to have to look around and see if I still have mine...
As with some others, I thought it was gonna get really good there at the end when it cut out.

Thanks folks. I would have made the song longer but I can only upload 4-5 min videos on youtube. I'm using the accent out of the DR-110 to clock the Klee. Im also using a CGS Pulse Divider. The divided clock is going into the ext load input, and the main clock is going into the clock input. It works great!

Yeah baby! Like that video....and it brings a question to mind about klee operation. I noticed you get pattern changes without pressing the manual load, is this because the Dr110 is hooked to the ext load and it does the load on every accent?

I have the accent out of the DR-110 going into a multiple. From the multiple its split with one cable going into the clock input of the Klee, and the other is going into the CGS Pulse Divider. The divided output of the Pulse Divider is going into the EXT Load input of the Klee. So when I flip the EXT Load switch, the Klee keeps going but on a different clock timing than the main clock. You can get different timing on the EXT Load by using a different division output of the Pulse Divider. The Pulse Divider is a must have module for the Klee. _________________ Check out my music

It crossed my mind that a built in divider could be used so the Klee would load itself on divisions of the clock. Sounds like it's working for you with an external one. I find the Klee a lot of fun, but a bit complicated for me as this is my first sequencer, nothing like jumping in the deep end.

Geez, that's a cool video!
Hey - I got a DR110 too! I bought mine when they were actually making them....back when I played that thing that has the six strings and the long neck and those square metal things under the strings....what was that thing? _________________ My Site

do you use a midi2gate/cv for them to sync?
I just use one of the drum tracks of the EM-1, assign it a NOTE number of my own choice, then run the MIDI out to my own DIY MIDI/TRIGGER unit or send it to my trusty PAiA MIDI/CV unit. I like it this way because I can advance the Klee any way I want in accordance to the pattern I set in the EM-1.
I use one more track from the EM-1 as a LOAD commend to the Klee so I can synchronize to beat 1, measure 1 or truncate the Klee pattern anywhere I like in the pattern. I can then create stutter FX also by triggering repeated loads.
This is a very versatile way of doing things at the expense of 2 EM-1 tracks but there are several on this unit so it was not that big a deal for me.
Noise sound = Noisering
Bassllne is the Wiard vco trough Borg vcf and vca.
The high sound is a WaveformCity trough a Wasp vcf and a Borg in vca mode.
Some Serge percusion.
Rythmace bassdrum and hihats.
I got a few more here
thank's scott. the vid motivated me to play with the klee again today. in the sample you hear the modular only, no external effects ot whatever. recorded straight into my audio I/O.

I agree - it's very rubbery in a very cool way!
Another interesting thing - I don't think it ever occurred to me to try feeding the external range with a sawtooth LFO - cool idea! I'm going to have to try that out.....
Thanks for posting this and the patch as well! _________________ My Site

in this case it results in these percussion effects. the speed of the saw is twice the square wave. _________________

Hey glad you like the vid Scott.. crappy sound included. Taken in a hotel room on the way to the AH Pacific NW meet, Klee controlling an Oberhiem SEM and some of my T.Henry modular builds, TH-VCO and Mankato. Sounded go to us, but the Bellingham brew pub might have had a bit to do with that.

Not so much a tune, but a demo of my Ugly Duckling Klee. I think this one is the second of the protos that was finished (I'm thinking Tom Bugs has the honor of finishing his first, if memory serves correctly).
Twiddling the range, random, invert B, load Bus 1, 8X2/16X1, and merge switches 1 and 2. One voice is a sawtooth through late MS-20 filter, the other voice is another late MS-20 filter in oscillation running through the CGS Wave multiplier.
Two EGs, two VCAs...well, two voices.
Audio got all futzed up in the process, but you can almost make out what I'm doing visually....
